Hemp hearts are a superfood rich in protein.
It has 20 amino acids – the basic building block of protein. Hemp protein is essential for the development, growth, and maintenance of muscles, tissues, and vital organs. It helps to promote metabolism and increase fat burning.
Like quinoa, hemp has an intact protein. This means it has all nine essential amino acids that can only be got from food. This is rare for plant-based proteins because most proteins lack lysine.
Hemp hearts are also easy to digest. This means that the body can use most of the amino acids in the hemp hearts to achieve important body functions, such as repair and maintenance.
Hemp hearts contain branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) besides intact proteins.
Among the nine essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine make up three BCAAs. Studies have shown that BCAAs can stimulate muscle protein synthesis or muscle growth and speed up recovery after exercise by reducing muscle soreness.
Hemp hearts can protect our hearts!
Heart disease is the world’s number one killer. But you can protect yourself (and the heart) by eating more heart-healthy foods such as hemp hearts and protein!
Hemp seeds contain essential fatty acids: omega-6 and omega-3. Omega-6s pro-inflammatory, while Omega-3s are considered anti-inflammatory.
Eating foods with lower ratios of omega-6 and omega-3 (such as hemp hearts) can help correct imbalances while reducing inflammation in the body and improving heart health.
Hemp seeds also contain large amounts of arginine, an amino acid that produces nitric oxide. Nitric oxide shows arterial relaxation, which promotes normal blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart disease.
Help intestinal health and digestion
Diet is essential for healthy eating and intestinal health and digestion. Hemp hearts contain 80% soluble fiber and 20% insoluble fiber.
Soluble fiber slows digestion by attracting water to produce a substance in the intestine. Besides feeding beneficial bacteria in the intestine, soluble fiber can also bind to substances such as cholesterol and sugar and prevent or slow the rate of absorption into the blood. This helps prevent blood sugar from rising and regulates cholesterol levels.
We often refer insoluble fibers to as “crude fibers” and are insoluble in water. It increases the volume of feces and helps you stay regular by preventing constipation.
Because hemp hearts are rich in fiber, it cleans the colon by reducing constipation and removing toxins from the body. (The digestive system is one of the body’s natural detoxification systems!)
What makes our hemp hearts different?
Hemp is from China, Europe, and North America. The difference between the place of origin and the seed will cause a small difference in the composition. However, the nutritional value is the same.
Our organic hemp hearts are processed and stored in a low-temperature environment. This way, we keep the nutrients of the hemp hearts.
We also tested glyphosate, pesticides, and heavy metals in hemp hearts. It also received organic certification from USDA and EU. It is also 100% non-GMO and vegan.
